Snooper F.Y.I.: During our vacation, we have learned, Frank Talent, MC Court, was recently released from the hospital. He wanted us to thank Dr. Grossman and Dr. Brodsky, two of THE BEST. He wanted to thank all those who were so kind as to send him baskets of “goodies” and get-well cards. He has assured us here at The Public Record, he will be back; after all, he really misses all of you. We missed him too.

Snooper UPDATE: Remember I told you about this up-and-coming fighter, REY RUIZ, a promising light heavyweight. I have learned, through his adviser and consultant JOE McDERMOTT, he recently fought at The Alhambra, and as he told me, REY put up a good fight. Yes, he may have lost a ‘close’ decision, but showed a lot of heart.

Snooper’s “Special Report”: The Fairmount Braves, of baseball fame, recently returned from THE BASEBALL HALL OF FAME, are still being talked about as Fairmount Sports Association’s PRIDE AND JOY. Coach Brad Moss, along with Johnny Dunn, President, is so proud of all their accomplishments all year long, and especially how they performed on “The Field of Dreams”.

Snooper Scooper: I have been informed Charles Fuller, Crew Chief at The Philadelphia Airport, has received numerous AWARDS AND COMMENDATIONS for doing his job. He possesses two great qualities: Honesty AND Integrity.

Snooper’s Kudos Files: How about the great Senator from South Philly, Hon. Vincent Fumo? He is truly one of the hardest-working Senators in Pennsylvania. Senator Fumo is constantly looking out for all of us here in Philadelphia and, I might add, does it 24/7.

This Senator has one of the highest rankings for doing what he does best: SERVING HIS CONSTITUENTS. Yes, he does a lot that he never gets any credit for. But this has never bothered him, because, he would be the first to tell you, “That’s why I’m here.”

Snooper Scooper: I found out all about this program they call C.L.I.P., better known as Community Life Improvement Program. Thanks to Councilwoman Joan Krajewski and Councilman Dan Savage, this is quite a hard-working program. The ‘bottom line’ is they want all your neighbors to keep their properties looking nice; after all, you must live there. This program basically wants all of you to cut your grass, and keep your properties in good shape. They issue severe fines and citations to those who don’t comply. Hey, it’s your COMMUNITY!

Snooper ‘Sighting’: Yo Boss, look who’s here doing Jury Duty? It’s the Governor himself, Hon. Edward Rendell. I was in total shock to see him there; after all, he is THE GOVERNOR. Commissioner Roger King informed us Rendell asked for no special favors but, as it turned out, it was his lucky day; he was not picked on any panel. The Governor caught up on some of his paperwork and did shake hands with the many jurors who were there.

Snooper “UPDATE”: I told you what might happen in the upcoming General Election, especially in the Councilmanic races. We already know, after the results of The Primary Election, there’ll be two new Council Persons. The General Election will produce at least one more change in the makeup of City Council, and I can tell you The Republicans are working very hard to stop it.

Snooper’s Sports Extra: This will be a good one for all you Phillies fans. I believe, if they keep playing the way they are, the Phillies will definitely be in The Playoffs. I can see them going deep into the playoffs, but they will not be winning any championships. We really must give the Phyllis their ‘due’; after all, look at what they had to suffer through all year. Hey, if it weren’t for all the injuries, who knows what might have been? Yes Howard Jetter, they are basically a good team that had some bad breaks. Who knows what might happen NEXT YEAR?

Snooper “Quickie”: Don’t forget State Rep. John Taylor’s SENIOR EXPO Oct. 5 at the Cohox Rec Ctr. Be there by 10:00 a.m. Great event.

Snooper’s Late News Wire Services: What the heck is going on over at The Youth Study Center? Insiders are telling me all about the abuses that are still going on. I must let Hon. Kevin Dougherty, the Administrative Judge, know what’s happening over there. Yes, there needs to be an investigation, “inside and out”, to get to the bottom of it all. I hear things are really rough too.

Snooper’s Special Request: I have been asked to mention the following people who work at The Frankford-Torresdale hospital. They are Dr. Brodsky and staff, Dr. Grossman and staff, and let’s not forget the nurses: Jeri, Marge, Tina, Big John, Steve, Jimmy, Jennifer, “The Wild One” Big Momma Marie, Iris, and others who really CARE.

The bottom line here is all these people care about YOU!
