WAKE UP, AMERICA! Look close at this “holiday” promotion sent out by USPS to every address in the country. Hanukkah is represented by Menorah; Kwanzaa is aptly photographed; abut in place of Christmas manger scene, birth of Jesus, the real reason for this holy season for most Americans – are they now suggesting we celebrate it by saying, “Merry Cookiemas”?

  1. Don,

Here is the article in The Public Record stating that it is official about taking Christ out of Christmas!!! And your Dad is a liberal. He asked me if he was a liberal (doesn’t even know it). FYI.

    Love,
    Mom

  3. Quit spinning the lies. There are still stamps available with the Virgin and Child and normal Christian related themes. These stamps are being advertised for non-Christians as they deserve recognition of their holidays too. What a bunch of morons.

  4. This year the Postal Service offered the Madonna and Child Art stamp from Jan Gossaert. We always have a Madonna and Christ child stamp.

Christmas is alive and well. As a matter of fact, it’s the only holiday that literally eats other holidays.

  5. We know USPS sells a Madonna-and-Child stamp; in fact, we reproduced it on the cover of the Philadelphia Public Record’s Dec. 5 print edition.

Our editorial board’s concern is that USPS chose not to advertise a Christian-themed stamp, but instead advertise a minority-religious holiday, a minority-ethnic holiday, & a secular holiday. Christianity was left out of USPS’ pre-Christmas marketing!

Yet most Americans are Christians & always have been. Why are they now unworthy of being marketed to by a public agency? Particularly a public agency that vigorously markets to other religions?

  7. Concerning the USPS kicking Christ out of Christmas, Christ can never be kicked out of Christmas, even by the USPS, mostly because the whole word “Christmas” is derived from the custom of honoring Christ with a mass, and making the word Christ + mas….

As far as USPS is concerned, the push on the USPS comes from rightwing extremists in the Republican Party that want to make the USA a Christian Nation only, and are doing unholy, unbiblical actions that go against the word of God to the USPS, all while saying they are selected by God to do so.

If anyone wants to take Christ out of Christmas, it is the extreme right wing – see http://www.theocracywatch .org, where the ALEC group was formed and later joined by the Koch brothers. The ALEC/Koch cabal, the privatization of USPS for UPS and FedEx, Bob Sloan, VLTP.net April 2012. See in the APWU 3800, PA library how the ongoing violation of the USPS guiding principles are creating a toxic work environment (www.savetheusps.com) and USPS widows on Facebook).

Freedom of worship was formed in the Constitution, which the USPS is the only agency mentioned in, and in fact was formed in order to win the Revolutionary War and predates both the founding of the nation and the Constitution. Now it is under assault for having too much money in retirement for letter carriers and postal workers in a pre-manufactured crisis by Congress. It is forced to pay $5 billion a year into a false account.

The USPS is simply honoring the Constitution which allows for freedom of worship, including Christians having Christmas as a federal holiday, and wants to continue to honor the Constitution where many in the right wing would do away with the freedom to do so , as our forefathers of the nation desired to have freedom for all, instead of making it a Christian Nation only, which is the diabolical push of greed to destroy the USPS and its union workers by the same right wing that is ungodly.
