BY JIM BURN, State Democratic Committee/ Dear Friend of the Democratic Party,

Please know the Pennsylvania Democratic Committee is looking forward to holding its fall meeting in the great City of Philadelphia on Friday, Sep. 12 and Saturday, Sep. 13 at the Sheraton Hotel, Downtown. Our Jefferson Jackson Dinner this year is also going to serve as a “Convention Preview”, as our Party works together to convince the DNC that Philadelphia has the energy, enthusiasm and capacity to be the host City for what I believe will be another historic Convention.

The choice of Philadelphia as the venue for our annual dinner could not have come at a better time, with Philadelphia being a prime candidate to host the 2016 National Convention.

This dinner will be unlike prior dinners that the State Party has hosted. We are going to use a convention format for the dinner, with banners reflecting the 67 counties. Our speaking program will use a “TSOP” theme, with the leaders from the community of Philadelphia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania coming to the microphone in order to speak directly to the DNC about the amenities that Philadelphia has to offer.

Also, “The Honorable Benjamin Franklin” will be serving as our Master of Ceremonies for the evening!

With a wide range of support from all interested parties that reflect the diversity of the City and the common interest we all have in securing this convention, I am convinced such an effort will significantly increase our chances for success in the selection process.

Please visit our web page, www.padems.com, if you would like more information regarding the Dinner and the State Party.

I look forward to seeing you on Sep. 12!
