2nd Dist. City Democrats Endorse Fattah For Congress

Last week the Philadelphia Democratic Ward Leaders of the 2nd Congressional Dist. endorsed incumbent Congressman Chaka Fattah for renomination in the April primary.

The vote was 16 for Fattah, 11 for State Rep. Dwight Evans (D-N. Phila.) and 1 for 9th Ward Leader Dan Muroff.

Lower Merion Township Commissioner, the fourth candidate in this primary race, got no votes from Philadelphia. It is presumed he will be endorsed by Montgomery County Democrats.

Observers noted that while Evans won the support of fewer wards than Fattah, his backers include several North Philadelphia wards which famously deliver high voter turnout.
