City Council Demands More Parking from Developers

THIS MAY BE the look of the future on many Philadelphia residential streets, as a result of a measure passed by City Council.

Philadelphia City Council settled months of wrangling by adding new requirements for developers in rowhouse neighborhoods and commercial corridors to build parking spaces into their projects. Car-owning residents in gentrifying areas should benefit. Critics charge renters and users of public transportation will be saddled with higher housing costs, reports WHYY:
