Councilmember Kenyatta Johnson (2nd District) asserted he was innocent of federal charges that have been filed against him and his wife Dawn Chavous, alleging that they took bribes from Kenny Gamble’s Universal Cos. Prominent supporters rallied to his side at Wharton Square Park in Johnson’s native Point Breeze neighborhood.
