SOCKS OR SHOES: Sheriff Aids Homeless

BY R. GEORGE LINTON/ Sheriff John Green’s Office has long taken a special interest in the needs of the homeless. Last Christmas, he and his staff found out the most-pressing need of homeless families was footwear. So they collected hundreds of pairs of socks and shoes to distribute to two homeless-family shelters.
Presenting appreciation awards here to Capt. Clifford Sipes and men and women of Juvenile Operations who particiaptes in the S.O.S. (Socks Or Shoes) program are former State Rep. Harold James, Wanda Davis, Catherine Hicks and Rev. John Roberts of Sheriff’s Office.
